New Analysis Finds High Demand for e-Waste Recycling in Europe

A report from Frost & Sullivan finds the European Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Recycling Market earned revenues of $1.30 billion in 2012 to grow to an estimated $1.79 billion in 2020. Germany, France, Italy and Central and Eastern European countries offer immense opportunities in growth.

While the potential for growth exists, the national WEEE recycling legislations are not correctly aligned with EU standards and ensuring variances in interpretation affect enforcement and ultimately, curbs market growth. The lack of efficiency in WEEE material collection slows the execution of environmentally-sound recycling processes and creates difficulty in meeting final recycling needs.
