AMETEK Programmable Power has introduced a new AC and DC power platform with exceptional power density, performance and ease of use. The California Instruments Asterion Power Source offers power density up to 1500VA in a 1U (44.45mm/1.75in) height package. It is available in 500VA, 750VA and 1500VA power levels.
Asterion’s powerful performance is backed by AMETEK’s new iX2™ current-doubling technology. As the output voltage decreases from maximum to one-half maximum, Asterion’s available output current increases up to two times the rated output current. That allows it to maintain maximum power throughout a wide voltage range. In addition, iX2 current-doubling technology eliminates the need to buy multiple sources or overpowered sources to run tests at different voltage levels, such as when performing low line voltage testing.
