New 5270-5375 MHz Coaxial Resonator Oscillator (CRO) from Crystek

Crystek has introduced a new Coaxial Resonator Oscillator (CRO) that is a coaxial-based VCO with an internal proprietary frequency doubler, model CVCO55CXT-5270-5375. The CVCO55CXT family’s frequency doubling, 2X fundamental technology reaches new performance levels of lower phase noise and much lower harmonics over the competition, while achieving lower current consumption in the process.  The CVCO55CXT-5270-5375 is ideal for use in applications such as digital radio equipment, fixed wireless access, satellite communications systems, and base stations.

The CVCO55CXT-5270-5375 operates from 5270 to 5375 MHz with a tuning voltage range of 0.3 Vdc to 4.7 Vdc. This coaxial VCO features a typical phase noise of -102 dBc/Hz @ 10KHz offset and has good linearity. The CVCO55CXT-5270-5375 CRO exhibits an output power of 0.0 dBm typ. into a 50 ohm load with a supply of +5.0 Vdc and a current consumption of 30 mA (max.).

The CVCO55CXT-5270-5375 CRO is packaged in the industry-standard 0.5-in x 0.5-in package. Pushing and Pulling are both minimized to 1.5 MHz/V and 0.5 MHz, respectively. Second harmonic suppression is -30 dBc typical.

Mastering High Voltage: The Importance of Accurate Test Equipment

This whitepaper underscores that precise calibration of high-voltage test gear — especially when measuring 1 kV–150 kV systems — is essential for safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. It details measurement techniques (voltage dividers, step-down transformers, etc.), the impact of environmental and connection factors on accuracy, and why traceable calibration (e.g. to NIST / A2LA) is a must to ensure consistent, reliable results.
