More Fire Trucks Recalled for Flashlight Fire Hazard

Fire equipmentKovatch Mobile Equipment Corp. is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Predator Severe Service vehicles. The affected fire trucks are equipped with Pelican 9410L flashlights that have lithium ion battery packs which may overheat, posing a fire hazard. In April, Pierce Manufacturing also recalled certain model year 2010-2016 Arrow-XT, Quantum, and Velocity fire trucks for the same issue.

Pelican Products Inc. has also issued a consumer product recall for 4,600 flashlights and 168 replacement battery packs. The flashlights are large rechargeable LED flashlights equipped with lithium ion battery packs and replacement batteries. The recalled flashlights have manufacturer part number 9410-021-245 or 9410-021-110 printed on the packaging. The manufacturer part number for the recalled battery pack is 9413-301-001 and is printed on the battery’s shrink wrap. Only battery packs that contain green shrink wrapped cells are included in the recall.
