Missing Circuit Breaker May Result in Fire in Jayco Travel Trailers

Octane travel trailerJayco, Inc. is recalling 322 model year 2016 Octane Super Lite travel trailers because they may have been built without a necessary 30 amp circuit breaker. If there is an electrical short on an unprotected circuit, the trailers will have an increased risk of a fire.

An engineer accidentally discovered this production error. While researching vendor denial of claims for bad converters that were actually okay, the Jayco engineer found that after a design change to add a side battery box to certain Octane Super Lite Travel trailers, the required 30amp circuit breaker was omitted. Jayco will notify owners, and dealers will install a 30 amp circuit breaker, free of charge.
