MET Laboratories has acquired the assets and operations of the Dell Austin, Texas Regulatory Test Laboratory. The former Dell regulatory facility is a well-equipped and staffed lab that performs Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Product Safety Testing to regulatory standards. Official transfer of the operation occurred on January 5, 2011.
MET will expand its EMC and product safety accreditations to include the new Texas facility. On February 1, 2011, the facility will be open for use by all MET customers.
“We are pleased to add this Texas location to our growing capability to perform electrical regulatory compliance testing for leading global companies,” says MET Laboratories President Robert Frier. “The opportunity to work more intensively with Dell is exciting, as is our new-found ability to better serve our customers located in Texas and surrounding states.”
The 14,500-square-foot facility originally opened December 1999 and has extensive equipment. The EMC Lab includes a full-compliance 10 Meter Anechoic Chamber, a 24’ x 14’ x 11’ RF Immunity Chamber, a 20’ x 16’ x 10’ Temperature/Humidity Chamber for ESD Testing, and 8 EMC Test Areas for CISPR 22 & 24.
