Dr. Bogdan Adamczyk is professor and director of the EMC Center at Grand Valley State University (http://www.gvsu.edu/emccenter) where he performs EMC educational research and regularly teaches EM/EMC courses and EMC certificate courses for industry. He is an iNARTE-certified EMC Master Design Engineer. Bob Vemillion, CPP/Fellow Certified ESD & Product Safety Engineer-iNarte is a subject matter expert in ESD mitigation of materials and packaging and is an ESDA Standards Committee Member. Arturo Mediano received his M.Sc. (1990) and his Ph. D. (1997) in Electrical Engineering from University of Zaragoza (Spain), where he has held a teaching professorship in EMI/EMC/RF/SI from 1992. From 1990, he has been involved in R&D projects in EMI/EMC/SI/RF fields for communications, industry and scientific/medical applications with a solid experience in training, consultancy and troubleshooting for companies in Spain, USA, Switzerland, France, UK, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Canada, The Netherlands, Portugal, and Singapore. He is the founder of The HF-Magic Lab®, a specialized laboratory for design, diagnostic, troubleshooting, and training in the EMI/EMC/SI and RF fields at I3A (University of Zaragoza), and from 2011, he is instructor for Besser Associates (CA, USA) offering public and on site courses in EMI/EMC/SI/RF subjects through the USA, especially in Silicon Valley/San Francisco Bay Area. Don Gies has been a product compliance engineer for over 25 years. Since 1989, Mr. Gies has worked at AT&T-Bell Laboratories/Lucent Technologies/Alcatel-Lucent as a product safety engineer, responsible for obtaining product safety certifications for his company’s telephone and information processing equipment from domestic and international product safety organizations. Mr. Gies has become a leading subject matter expert for his company in the field of global product safety compliance, working primarily with Alcatel-Lucent's wireless base station equipment. He is a member of the Alcatel-Lucent Technical Academy. Prior to working at AT&T, Mr. Gies was a Tempest engineer for Honeywell-Signal Analysis Center, where he worked on various secure communications projects for the US Army Communications -Electronics Command. Mr. Gies graduated from Rutgers University - College of Engineering as an electrical engineer. He is an iNARTE Certified Product Safety Engineer.
Frank O'Brien teaches a best selling training course in IEC 60601, the medical electrical equipment family of standards for basic safety and essential performance, with locations in San Jose, Boston, Galway, and Amsterdam. His Boston based consulting firm is O’Brien Compliance Management, obcompman.com. He participates on IEC TC62 committees. He worked 24 years at Underwriters Laboratories where he evaluated literally 1000’s of medical devices. In the past Frank has called home, San Jose, Frankfurt Germany, Long Island NY, and Syracuse NY. Frank has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Clarkson College, NY; and a Master of Science in Technology Management from SUNY Stony Brook, NY. When not busy with work, he enjoys time with his fiancee in Ireland, grandkids on Long Island, his family camp in Maine, exchanging stories over a pint of Guinness, a baseball game at Fenway, quiet moments with a cup of coffee, and solving puzzles.
Dr. Bruce Archambeault is an IBM Distinguished Engineer at IBM in Research Triangle Park, NC and an IEEE Fellow. He received his B.S.E.E degree from the University of New Hampshire in 1977 and his M.S.E.E degree from Northeastern University in 1981. He received his Ph. D. from the University of New Hampshire in 1997. His doctoral research was in the area of computational electromagnetics applied to real-world EMC problems. He is the author of the book “PCB Design for Real-World EMI Control” and the lead author of the book titled “EMI/EMC Computational Modeling Handbook”.
Dr. Todd Hubing is the Michelin Professor of Vehicle Electronic Systems Integration at Clemson University and Director of the Clemson Vehicular Electronics Laboratory (CVEL). His research focuses on the design of electronic components and systems that work safely and reliably in automotive environments. Dr. Hubing holds a BSEE degree from MIT, an MSEE degree from Purdue University and a Ph.D. from North Carolina State University.
He was an engineer with IBM for 7 years and a faculty member at the University of Missouri-Rolla for 17 years before joining Clemson University in 2006. At Clemson, he teaches classes in automotive electronics integration to graduate students in the automotive engineering department. He also teaches classes in vehicle electronics, electromagnetic compatibility and digital signal integrity to graduates and undergraduates in the electrical engineering department. His company, LearnEMC, provides EMC instruction and design assistance to practicing engineers. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a Fellow of the Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society, and a Past-President of the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Society.
Kimball Williams is a Technical Fellow for Denso Americas based in Southfield, Michigan, acting as the engineering lead for the EMC laboratory. He received his BSEE degree from Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan. Prior to joining Denso Americas, he was the Principal Designated Engineer for Underwriters Laboratories for 3 years. He began his EMC career in earnest as the Principal EMC Engineer for Eaton Corporation, where he remained for 26 years. He is a Past-President of the IEEE EMC Society and is presently serving on its Board of Directors.
