Melville Direct Recalls Aquarium Motion Lamps Due to Fire Hazard

Recalled Aquarium LampsMelville Direct has issued a recall for 3,600 of their Aquarium Motion Lamps because the lamp can overheat and spark when plugged in, posing a fire hazard. The fans were sold exclusively in the Bits and Pieces catalogue and online at www.bitsandpieces.com from September 2014 through January 9, 2015 for $30. There have been 11 reports of the lamps overheating or sparking when plugged in.

The recall Aquarium Lamp simulates a tropical coral reef, with lights that illuminate fish and dolphins that swim back and forth with a 3D effect. The lamp includes a beveled glass mirror frame and a plastic case and stand. View the full recall notice for a complete description. Consumers should immediately unplug the lamp. Melville Direct will provide a return form a label for a refund of the recalled lamps.
