The Second Annual Women in Manufacturing STEP Awards will be held on February 6, 2014 in Washington, D.C and will recognize 160 recipients who have had accomplishments in manufacturing.
The STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering and Production) awards recognize women who represent all levels in the manufacturing industry and have demonstrated excellence and leadership. The manufacturing industry is facing a skills gap according to a survey from Deloitte and the Manufacturing Institute. The study found that nearly 70% of American manufacturing companies have a moderate to severe shortage of qualified workers.
