Lorex Recalls Video Baby Monitors Due to Burn Hazard

baby_monitorAbout 26,000 Lorex Care ‘N’ Share video baby monitors are being recalled. The batteries can overheat, then swell, causing the battery cover to open or come off completely, exposing the hot batteries to users. 8,000 units were also sold in Canada.

The model numbers included in this recall are WL3520, WL4320 and WL3401, and the monitors were sold in bundles with cameras. They were sold at Babies “R” Us, B&H, Best Buy, The Home Depot, Walmart and online at www.amazon.com and www.lorextechnology.com from May 2013 through April 2016.

There have been 488 reports of the batteries overheating, but no injuries have been reported. Consumer should stop using the monitors and contact Lorex to receive a refund.
