LocknCharge Technologies is recalling 550 units of their iQ10 charging stations because a defective USB charging hub can cause an electrical shock to the consumer when the charging station is connected to the electrical supply. LocknCharge has received one report of a woman in Australia receiving an electrical shock from a charging station.
The recalled charging stations are metal lockers that allow users to charge and store several tablets at the same time. They were sold by distributors to schools, government agencies, and other users from February 2015 to May 2015 for about $600. They are metal cubes that are about 16 inches tall, with two doors on the front. The LocknCharge logo is on the sides of the cube. The charging stations have two USB charging hubs under the top cover. See the CPSC notice for a list of specific batch numbers that are included in the recall.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled charging stations and contact LocknCharge Technologies for a free replacement charging hub and instructions for replacing the charging hub.
