Lighted Night Stands Recalled Due to Burn Hazard

Lea Industries has issued a recall for more than 500 lighted night stands due to a light fixture underneath the night stand overheating, burning carpet, and posing a burn hazard. The night stands were sold from March 2013 to April 2014 at Furnitureland South and other major furniture stores nationwide.

The night stands are wooden, have two drawers, and a power strip on the back panel with a 20 watt halogen bulb on the bottom panel. Three night stand models with different finishes and styles are included in the recall. The night stands measure 22 inches wide, 16 inches deep, and 27 inches high, and has two touch buttons on the side panels that operate the light fixture. Consumers with recalled night stands should unplug the fixture, and contact the manufacturer for a free repair and gift card.

Check to see if your lighted night stand is included in the recall.
