Lifepro Portable Space Heaters Recalled due to Electrical Shock Hazard

Lifepro Portable Space HeatersLifesmart has recalled 17,000 of their Lifepro brand portable infrared quartz space heater due to electrical shock hazard. The danger is due to screws that attach the back plate to the heater being too short and therefore allowing the plate to detach when a user removes the heater from an outlet. No incidents or injuries have been reported.

The heaters are six-and-a-half inches tall, made of black plastic, with a Lifepro logo molded into the front bottom. The recalled model numbers are LS-IQH-DMICRO and LS-IQH-MICRO. The model name and wattage are printed on a label on the back of each heater below a three-prong plug. They were sold throughout 2014 for $40-$50 in stores nationwide and at major online retailers such as Amazon.com and Walmart.com. Consumers should unplug and stop using the heaters and contact Lifesmart for a free repair kit, a free replacement heater, or a full refund.
