Large, Flexible Solar Cells Developed

Large, Flexible Solar Cells Developed | In Compliance Magazine

A European research team of six partners joined forces to develop solar energy products for the renewable energy development. The project, FabriGen, combined flexible photovoltaic materials with tensile fabric to manufacture a solar cell measuring more than six meters long and 50 centimeters wide.

Using flexible fabric or plastic to produce these solar cells allows photovoltaic structures to be designed with maximum solar collection in mind. These solar cells could be used to build generating fabric structures that could be connected to the grid or used for distributed power generation.
