Kohler Power Systems Recalls Portable Generators Due to Shock Hazard

generatorKohler Power Systems is recalling about 7,000 portable generators, as well as about 230 sold in Canada. The generators have a wiring error that can cause an electrical shock if an electrical device is plugged into the generator.

There have bee no injuries reported.

The generators were manufactured by Sumec Machinery & Electric Co. Ltd., of China and distributed by Kohler Power Systems. They were sold by authorized Kohler distributors from June 2014 through May 2016 for between $740 and $1,400.

Consumers are urged to stop using the generators and contact contact Kohler to schedule a free repair.
