Keysight Technologies Announces the Keysight Distinguished University Program

LearningKeysight Technologies, Inc. introduced the Keysight Distinguished University Program, a program designed to identify and acknowledge educational excellence in creating industry-ready engineers. The program provides a strong level of cooperation and support between each participating University and Keysight. The program also creates a process to engage students in industry-related projects based on the latest technologies.

Tsinghua University, China’s leading research university, has been designated the first Keysight Distinguished University, with its establishment of a joint Tsinghua-Keysight EDA software laboratory for Information and Communication System design education in Beijing. This designation demonstrates Tsinghua University’s leadership and innovation in the education and fostering of industry-ready engineers. It also reinforces the university’s commitment to establishing curriculum and labs based on Keysight EEsof EDA software and instruments, helping other universities launch similar programs, sponsoring industry forums in conjunction with Keysight, and implementing a Keysight Industry-Ready Student Certification Program.

As part of the Keysight EEsof EDA University Educational Support Program, and in recognition of its Distinguished University designation, Keysight will donate software to Tsinghua University to facilitate teaching information and communication system system-level and RFMW design. In return for the donation, Tsinghua University agrees to develop lab courses based on Keysight EDA system-level design and simulation software. The University also commits to using the software for academic purposes and the creation of technical papers and examples. Keysight’s donation was formally announced during a ceremony at Tsinghua University on Jan. 12.

Just as interference testing requires RF enclosures, isolation systems in turn need their own testing. This document reviews some of the issues and considerations in testing RF enclosures.

“We are proud to partner with the leading university in China to help research engineers and students acquire the skills they need to positively impact industry and advance quickly in their careers,” said Todd Cutler, vice president and general manager of Keysight EEsof EDA. “Our software donation is given as an acknowledgment of the strong level of cooperation and commitment between Keysight and Tsinghua University.”

“Our cooperation with Keysight is a win-win for both of us,” said Xue Qikun, vice president of Tsinghua University. “We are grateful to Keysight for donating software to our Electronic Engineering department. We hope the establishment of the EDA Software Joint Laboratory not only promotes Tsinghua’s education and research, but also is conducive to the future development of Keysight.”

“Keysight has played a pivotal role in advancing technology and we are excited to see this tradition continue with Tsinghua University,” said Steve Yan, general manager and vice president of Greater-China Field Organization for Keysight. “System-level and RFMW research is the foundation of China’s leadership in commercial communication. Together, Keysight and Tsinghua University will continue to work to strengthen that foundation.”
