Intertek Boston Laboratory Receives AEMCLAP Accreditation for Automotive EMC Testing

Intertek, a global leader in testing, inspection and certification services, today announced its acceptance into the Automotive Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory Accreditation Program (AEMCLAP). This allows Intertek to provide AEMCLAP-approved testing for Bulk Current Injection (BCI), Electro-Static Discharge (ESD), Radiated and Conducted Emissions (CISPR 25) and Radiated Immunity to automotive OEMs and suppliers.

Intertek’s automotive EMC facility was approved following competency evaluations conducted by the A2LA AEMCLRP Review Committee, made up of representatives from Chrysler Group, Ford and General Motors. The Company is also in the process of applying for recognition from Ford Motor Company and General Motors, in accordance with their respective requirements.

“Obtaining AEMCLAP accreditation significantly expands the scope of our testing capacity and directly benefits our clients’ industry-specific needs,” said Michael Koffink, EMC Operations Manager, Intertek Boston. “It is an excellent complement to our new 10-meter EMC facility, and reinforces our commitment to providing the highest level of service in the industry.”
