The IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) has announced a preprint of proposed changes to the 2017 Edition of the National Electrical Safety Code® (NESC®) will be published, and an eight-month commentary period will open on September 1, 2014. August 2014 marks the 100th anniversary of the introduction of one of the most widely adopted safety codes.
The commentary period will be open from September 1, 2014 to May 1, 2015, and offers interested individuals to an opportunity to review the proposed changes, endorse them, or suggest additional changes. When the commentary period closes, the NESC subcommittees will review all the comments and prepare a final report. The 2017 Edition of NESC is scheduled to be published on August 1, 2016.
