Building the Internet of Things | In Compliance Magazine

The IEEE published a new standard that specifies sensor performance in consumer electronics technologies. IEEE 2700 provides a methodology to identify sensor technologies for use in future Internet of Things, e-health, connected vehicles, and augmented reality technology. The new standard is available for purchase on the IEEE’s website.

Description*

IEEE 2700 provides “a common framework for sensor performance specification terminology, units, conditions and limits is provided. Specifically, the accelerometer, magnetometer, gyrometer/gyroscope, barometer/pressure sensors, hygrometer/humidity sensors, temperature sensors, ambient light sensors, and proximity sensors are discussed.”
