Untitled-1

The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) has released IEC 61400-25-1:2017. This standard pertains to wind energy generation systems – Part 25-1: Communications for monitoring and control of wind power plants – Overall description of principles and models and is now available on the IEC webstore.

Description: “IEC 61400-25-1:2017 gives an overall description of the principles and models used in the IEC 6140025 series, which is designed for a communication environment supported by a client-server model.

A Dash of Maxwell’s: A Maxwell’s Equations Primer – Part One

Solving Maxwell’s Equations for real-life situations, like predicting the RF emissions from a cell tower, requires more mathematical horsepower than any individual mind can muster. These equations don’t give the scientist or engineer just insight, they are literally the answer to everything RF.

Three areas are defined, that are modelled separately to ensure the scalability of implementations: wind power plant information models, information exchange model, and mapping of these two models to a standard communication profile. This new edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: general harmonization of text and overview models with the other parts of the IEC 6140025 series, harmonization of definitions in other related standards.
