The IEEE Standards Associated has announced the winner of their “I Spy Ethernet IEEE 802.3™” contest, Rahul Kar, an IT student from Calcutta, India. Mr. Kar’s submission represented smart cities based on the Internet of Things.
The contest was part of a yearlong celebration marking the 40th anniversary of Ethernet and the 30th anniversary of the IEEE 802.3 standard. Contest submissions were received from all over the world including North America, Brazil, India and the Middle East. The submissions included many innovative Ethernet applications and concepts, like the Internet of Things (IoT), automotive and industrial Ethernet, personalized medicine and Twitter-controller pet care systems and much more.
