March 10, 2023 – HV TECHNOLOGIES, Inc., a family-owned business specializing in the distribution and servicing of HV (high voltage) and EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) test equipment, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Despite being one of several companies in a light industrial area near the historic City of Manassas, the company has quietly become a significant player in the niche market of electrical testing equipment produced in Europe.

Founded by Alain Bolliger in 1998, HV TECHNOLOGIES, Inc. is the American face of prominent manufacturers of HV and EMC test equipment in Europe. The company supplies HV test equipment to power utility and power apparatus companies and EMC test equipment to the military and electronic equipment industry.

HV TECHNOLOGIES, Inc. does not just sell HV and EMC test equipment from top European manufacturers; it also services and repairs the equipment and provides consulting, calibration, and training, eliminating the need to send the equipment back to the manufacturer. In 2017 and 2018, the company received two of the top certifications in the industry (ISO 9001 and the ISO 17025).

As utility companies switch to green energy, they may switch from AC to DC transmission, and HV TECHNOLOGIES, Inc. is already geared towards the future with the testing equipment for that.

Alain Bolliger emigrated from Switzerland in 1981, worked for one of his suppliers, and eventually decided to branch out on his own. However, the company has been proudly based in Manassas since its beginning, and it has no plans to leave.

“HV TECHNOLOGIES is proud to be celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, serving as the American face of prominent manufacturers of HV and EMC test equipment produced in Europe,” said Dominique Bolliger, Vice President of HV TECHNOLOGIES. “Our goal is to provide the best test and measurement solutions available on the market.  These help our customers to meet their quality requirements of high voltage insulation systems or to achieve the electromagnetic compatibility regulatory requirements of their electronic systems.”

HV TECHNOLOGIES, Inc. employs 14 people and foresees continued growth in the immediate future, with plans to hire more sales, service, and office personnel.
