HP Recalls 6 Million Notebook Computer AC Power Cords

Hewlett-Packard issued a recall of six million LS-15 AC power cords after receiving 29 reports of the power cords overheating and melting. Of those 29 reports, two resulted in minor burns and 13 claims for minor property damage.

The power cords were included in HP and Compaq notebook as well as mini notebooks computers sold from September 2010 through June 2012. The recalled power cords have a “LS-15” mark molded on the AC adapter end of the cord. Consumers with recalled power cords should stop using the cord and contact HP to order your free replacement.
