Honda issued a voluntary recall of 886,815 Odyssey minivans made in 2005 to 2010 due to the possibility of fire from the fuel strainer. There have been no reports of fires or injuries from this issue.
The fuel strainers in the affected models are vulnerable to deteriorating early due to exposure of high temperature and acidic chemicals that could lead to cracks. The cracks in the strainer may leak fuel and increase the risk of a fire. The automaker will be replacing the vehicle’s fuel strainer later this summer but will inform customers of a temporary fix until the parts are available.
