High Current DC Interference Filter FMER SOL for Photovoltaic Systems

Schurter has announced the introduced of a new 2300 A FMER SOL interference filter that limits noise generated on the DC side of the inverter. This series is also now offered without ground capacitors to safely prevent any leakage of current to ground. Using the FMER SOL DC filter on the DC side of the inverter ensures EMC compliance and thus overall reliability of the entire PV system.

FMER SOL filters are designed for rated currents from 25A to 2300A with a standard ambient temperature rating of 55°C. They are also rated at 75°C ambient temperature up to 1200VDC with corresponding current de-rating.

Mastering High Voltage: The Importance of Accurate Test Equipment

This whitepaper underscores that precise calibration of high-voltage test gear — especially when measuring 1 kV–150 kV systems — is essential for safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. It details measurement techniques (voltage dividers, step-down transformers, etc.), the impact of environmental and connection factors on accuracy, and why traceable calibration (e.g. to NIST / A2LA) is a must to ensure consistent, reliable results.
