Pier 1 has recalled approximately 11,000 hanging glass star lanterns due a fire hazard. The solder welds can melt and cause the candle holder to break, exposing the flame of a candle.
The lanterns are 3D star-shaped made of gold-toned metal and amber, red or clear glass. They measure seven inches wide, seven inches deep and seven inches high. The company has received five reports of the solder melting and one report of the lantern falling apart and causing damage to a rug. Consumers with recalled lanterns should immediately stop using it and return it to a Pier 1 store for a full refund or store credit.
