Earlier this month representatives of G&M Compliance, Inc. of Orange, CA and representatives of China Certification Centre for Automotive Products (CCAP) met with the heads of homologation for Chrysler, Ford, GM, and Tesla to discuss CCC certification issues required for U.S. car companies to sell into China. All automobiles imported to China, including a number of internal components, must be individually certified by Chinese Certification Bodies. Automotive parts, including the entire automobile, must be tested and found to comply with applicable Chinese regulations in an approved test lab. Currently most manufacturers rely on the largest certification body in China for their certifications. During the meeting in Detroit, G&M explained how they have teamed up with an alternate option (CCAP), which specializes in automotive testing. The main focus of the meeting was to explain how this partnership can help ensure a consistent and efficient process, and get automobiles into the China market within a reasonable time frame.
