Gas-Fired Hot Water Boilers from Crown Boiler Recalled

Crown Boiler Company of Philadelphia has recalled their CWD series cast iron hot water boilers that use natural gas or liquid petroleum to heat water in home baseboard, floor or radiator heating systems. The air pressure switch can fail and could omit excessive amounts of carbon monoxide, posing a CO poisoning hazard.

The boilers are red and gray, approximately 37 inches tall, 23 inches deep and range from 16 to 42 inches wide. The recalled boilers have model numbers that begin with CWD and were manufactured between May 1, 2005 and July 1, 2013. Consumers with recalled boilers should immediately contact the installer or distributor who they purchased the boiler from or Crown Boiler directly to schedule a free in-home repair.

Check to see if your Crown Boiler is on the list of recalled boilers.
