Gas-Fired Boilers Recalled By Weil-McLain Due to Risk of Fire and Explosion

Over 8,400 gas-fired boilers have been recalled by Weil-McLain because the cap on the manifold can crack, releasing gas and posing a risk for fire or explosion. Eleven incidents of manifold caps have been reported.

The recall includes the Ultra models 80, 105, 155, and 230 MBH and has a serial number between CP 6557046 and CP 6955985. The units were sold by wholesale distributors, plumbers and contractors from June 2012 through March 2014. Consumers with recalled models should immediately stop using the boiler, turn off the gas supply and contact the company to schedule a free inspection and repair.

Check to see if your Weil-McLain gas-fired boiler is included in the recall.
