Floor lamps recalled due to shock, fire hazards

Dolan Northwest LLC of Portland OR is recalling about 1100 of its Burien-brand floor lamps manufactured in China.

The company reports that the on/off foot switch on the lamps can fail and melt, posing shock and fire hazards to consumers. Dolan says that it has received three reports of melting switches, resulting in one report of property damage to the surrounding floor. However, there have been no reports of injuries.

The recalled floor lamps were sold online at DestinationLighting.com, and at Seattle Lighting, Globe Lighting and Builders Lighting showrooms in the Pacific Northwest from November 2010 through September 2012 for about $190.
