Five Brands of Air Conditioning and Heating Units Recalled Due to Burn and Fire Hazards

Goodman Recall | In Compliance Magazine

The Goodman Company issued a recall for more than 233,000 packaged terminal air conditioning and heating pumps because the power cords can overheat, posing burn and fire hazards. The recall includes Amana, Century, Comfort-Aire, Goodman, and York branded units.

The units recalled have a serial number in the range between 0701009633 to 0804272329. The recalled units are beige in color, rated 230/208 volts and 3.5 kilowatts. The brand name is located on the front cover, and the serial number is located on the control board plate. Most of these units have been installed in hotels, motels, apartment buildings, and other spaces to provide room climate control. Consumers with recalled units should immediately stop using the unit, unplug it, and request a free replacement power cord.
