OWT Industries has announced a recall of their Expert Gardener electric blower vacuums. The leaf blower can overheat, spark, and catch on fire, posing fire and burn hazards.
The recall includes 225,000 blower vacuums in the U.S. They were sold exclusively at Walmart and online at www.walmart.com from January 2012 through March 2014 for $40. No injuries have been reported, but OWT has received 16 reports of the blower vacuums sparking, arcing, smoking, or burning.
This recall involves green and black Expert Gardener 12 amp electric blower vacuums with model numbers 20254EG, 20254EGA, 20254EGB, 20254EGBC, 20254EGC and 21254EG. (Models 20254EG and 20254EGC of this product were previously recalled in February 2013.)
Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled leaf blowers and return them to Walmart for a full refund.
