FCC Maps Enforcement Actions Against Pirate Radio Operations

For those readers seeking more detailed information regarding enforcement efforts by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) against pirate radio operators, the Commission now maintains an interactive map available at its recently updated website.

The map, “FCC Enforcement Actions Against Pirate Radio by Location,” records each activity by the Commission’s Enforcement Bureau against pirate radio operators since the beginning of 2003. This provides direct access to detailed information on more than 1500 separate actions, including Forfeiture Orders, Notices of Unauthorized Operation and Notices of Apparent Liability.

The map also organizes enforcement activity by state, enabling visitors to identify key geographic concentrations of illegal radio operations.
