FCC Issues Multiple Citations for Unlawful Marketing of RF Devices

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) ended 2020 by issuing a number of citations connected with the unlawful marketing of radiofrequency devices.

The citations, each dated December 29th, were issued against Component Specialties (aka Speco Technologies), Premier Communications (aka Pryme Radio Products), and W.W. Grainger for marketing devices outside the scope of their respective equipment authorizations. The citations were issued following the receipt of complaints alleging illegal operation of specific wireless devices marketed or sold by the respective companies, and subsequent investigations by the FCC’s Spectrum Enforcement Division.

In each instance, the FCC reports that the companies have taken steps to bring the identified devices into compliance with the Commission’s rules, and to cease marketing non-compliant devices.
