FCC Bars 1200+ Telecom Providers for Robocall Non-Compliance

Following up on an initial action that we reported earlier this month, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has now doubled down on its effort to reduce the impact of robocalls.

According to an Order issued in late August, the Commission reports that it has now delisted over 1200 non-compliant voice service providers from its Robocall Mitigation Database (RMD). The delisted service providers reportedly failed to provide the FCC with the required information regarding their robocall mitigation plans by the stated deadline of December 31, 2024.

In an order issued earlier in the month, the FCC removed 185 non-compliant voice service providers for failing to provide the required information. (See https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/DA-25-694A1.pdf/)

The RMD was originally established by the FCC in 2020 to help promote transparency regarding the compliance of voice service providers with Commission rules intended to reduce illegal robocalls made to consumers.
