Faulty Batteries Could Lead to Recall of Sony VAIO Laptops

Sony is recommending its consumers who own a Sony VAIO Fit 11A laptop to stop using it and unplug it due to the non-removable battery possibly overheating and causing damage to the laptop’s housing.

The company has found three incidents of batteries overheating and is currently creating a process to either replace or repair the laptops. The laptops that could include faulty batteries have the following product name: SVF11N1XXXX. Sony will be releasing more information about the repair program sometime in the next two weeks.
