Low Voltage Directive Explained

Most electrical products are required to comply with the requirements of the current Low Voltage Directive (LVD) 2014/35/EU, which replaced 2006/95/EC in April 2016 with no transition period.

This course will provide you with an understanding of the LVD, the Harmonised Standards that underpin it, the types of hazard that the standards address, and many of the design measures required to comply with the standards.

The course includes details of the main test types that are applied and how this relates to product design.

The provisions of the Directive has an effect not just on Manufacturers but also Authorised Representatives, Importers and Distributors in the EU. The implications of these provisions are discussed in this course.
