EMF Directive Explained

The aim of this one day awareness training course is to provide an overview of the Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) Directive 2013/35/EU which is transposed into UK law by The Control of Electromagnetic Fields at Work Regulations (SI 2016 No 588); making it an important part of Health and Safety at Work.

Sometimes referred to as the ’Physical Agents Directive’, 2013/35/EU replaced the never in force 2004/40/EC and complements the older recommendation 1999/519/EC.

The EMF Directive is based on exposure limit values and action levels, which are aimed at preventing adverse health effects. It also includes methods and procedures for managing and measuring the human exposure to EMFs in the work place and lays down the minimum health and safety requirements for exposure of workers to electromagnetic fields (EMFs).

Organizations need to hold evidence of compliance with its legal requirements and this EMF safety at work (physical agents) training helps them to be able to do so.
