A new Consumer Product Safety Regulation and Market Surveillance Regulations will be introduced in 2014 that will overhaul the current product safety and market surveillance administration. The new regulations are expected to be adopted in 2014.
While the new proposed regulations maintain the majority of existing product safety requirements, they will enforce new marking of origin requirement and stricter documentation and notification commitments. An emphasis on market surveillance will also be included in the proposed regulations.
