EU Commission Issues Updated List of Standards for RED

The Commission of the European Union (EU) has issued an updated list of standards that can be used to demonstrate compliance with the essential requirements of the EU’s Radio Equipment Directive (2014/53/EU, also known as the RED).

The EU’s RED replaced the EU’s R&TTE Directive (1999/EC) and took full effect on June 14, 2017. While similar in many respects to the R&TTE Directive, the RED addresses a broader range of topics, and complements many of the requirements of the EU’s recast EMC and Low Voltage Directives.

Published in the July 14th issue of the Official Journal of the European Union, the updated list is comprised of approximately 150 different standards, and represents the seventh such update since the beginning of 2017.
