EU Commission Issues Updated List of Standards for RED

The Commission of the European Union (EU) has issued an updated list of standards that can be used to demonstrate compliance with the essential requirements of the EU’s Radio Equipment Directive (2014/53/EU, also known as the RED).

The EU’s RED replaced the EU’s R&TTE Directive (1999/EC) and took full effect in June of last year. While similar in many respects to the R&TTE Directive, the RED addresses a broader range of topics, and complements many of the requirements of the EU’s recast EMC and Low Voltage Directives.

Published in the September 14th issue of the Official Journal of the European Union, the updated list is comprised of more than 200 different standards, and supersedes all prior standards lists issued by the Commission under the Directive.
