EU Commission Issues Updated List of Standards for RED

The Commission of the European Union (EU) has issued an updated list of standards that can be used to demonstrate compliance with the essential requirements of the EU’s Radio Equipment Directive (2014/53/EU, also known as the RED).

The EU’s RED replaced the EU’s R&TTE Directive (1999/EC) and took full effect on June 14, 2017. While similar in many respects to the R&TTE Directive, the RED addresses a broader range of topics, and complements many of the requirements of the EU’s recast EMC and Low Voltage Directives.

Published in the October 13th issue of the Official Journal of the European Union, the updated list is comprised of more than 150 different standards, and represents the eighth such update since the beginning of 2017.

A Dash of Maxwell’s: A Maxwell’s Equations Primer – Part One

Solving Maxwell’s Equations for real-life situations, like predicting the RF emissions from a cell tower, requires more mathematical horsepower than any individual mind can muster. These equations don’t give the scientist or engineer just insight, they are literally the answer to everything RF.

View the updated list of standards for the RED that now supersedes and replaces all previously published versions.
