EU Commission Issues Final Update to RED Standards Prior to Effective Data

The Commission of the European Union (EU) has issued an updated list of standards that can be used to demonstrate compliance with the essential requirements of the EU’s Radio Equipment Directive (2014/53/EU, also known as the RED).

The newly updated list of more than 100 different standards (the sixth such update since the beginning of 2017) was published in the June 8th issue of the Official Journal of the European Union, less than one week before the June 13, 2017 expiration of the one year transition period from the EU’s R&TTE Directive (1999/EC). While similar in many respects to the R&TTE Directive, the RED addresses a broader range of topics, and complements many of the requirements of the EU’s recast EMC and Low Voltage Directives.

View the updated list of standards for the RED supersedes and replaces all previously published versions.
