The EOS/ESD Association, the global leader in ESD Control Standards announced the launch of its TR53 Technician Certification Program. The ESDA established the TR53 Technician Certification Program, which is based on the ESDA’s technical report, ESD-TR53 Compliance Verification of ESD Protective Equipment and Materials. This important document supports and maintains static control programs designed around ANSI/ESD S20.20 Standard for the Development of an Electrostatic Discharge Control Program for Protection of Electrical and Electronic Parts, Assemblies and Equipment, and the European technically equivalent standard IEC 61340-5-1.

The Association has entered into a cooperative certification agreement with Stephen Halperin & Associates. ESDA and SH&A agree that the SH&A Level 1: ANSI/ESDA S20.20 Plant Auditor class meets the criteria of the ESDA TR53 Technician Certification program. All course attendees that pass and comply with SH&A’s requirements for SH&A Level 1: ANSI/ESDA S20.20 Plant Auditor certification meet the ESDA Certified TR53 Technician program requirements. SH&A will register all successful Level 1 candidates with the ESDA and provide dual certification credentials to the certified individual.
