Electrocution Hazard Prompts Sweet Heat Hair Dryer Recall

recalled hair dryerAG Hair has announced a recall of their Sweet Heat hair dryers because they lack an immersion protection device, which guards against electrocution or shock if the dryer is immersed in water. No incidents or injuries have been reported.

About 3,100 handheld hair dryers are recalled. The hair dryers are white and have the words “Sweet Heat” printed near the blower nozzle and “AG Hair” is on the back of the blower nozzle, above the handle. They were sold at ULTA Beauty and other beauty supply stores and hair salons across the U.S. from May 2013 through March 2015 for about $100. Consumers are advised to immediately unplug and stop using the recalled hair dryers and contact AG Hair to request a pre-paid mailing label and packaging in order to return the hair dryer for a full refund.
