The Engine Control Module (ECM) may develop an internal electrical short circuit that could possibly blow a fuse in the ECM’s electrical supply circuit, resulting in an engine stall without warning. If this occurs, the engine cannot be restarted until the ECM and fuse are replaced.
To repair the vehicles, Cummins will install a new ECM and ECM calibrations. The recall affects the following manufacturers:
- Daimler Trucks North America LLC is recalling 268 model year 2017 Freightliner Cascadia, 122SD, Western Star 4900SA and 4900FA, and FCCC XCM and XCP trucks March 14, 2016, through May 18, 2016.
- Oshkosh Corporation is recalling six model year 2016 S-Series Front Discharge Concrete Mixers manufactured May 16, 2016, to May 25, 2016.
- Volvo Trucks North America is recalling 129 model year 2017 VNL trucks manufactured March 15, 2016, to April 20, 2016.
- Autocar, LLC is recalling 18 model year 2016-2017 Xpeditor vehicles manufactured March 21, 2016, to April 11, 2016.
- Terex Advance is recalling 21 model year 2016 Front Discharge Mixer trucks manufactured March 31, 2016, to May 9, 2016.
