Electric Random Orbital Sanders Recalled Due to Fire Hazard

Mirka Abrasives Inc. has issued a recall for their 5 and 6 inch CEROS compact electrical random orbital sanders due to the potential to short circuit. The company has received three reports of incidents of electrical shorting.

The sanders are yellow and black and feature the Mirka logo on the front. The models included in the recall are the CEROS 550 and CEROS 650 and were sold at nationwide retailers from November 2013 to April 2014. Both models were sold with a carrying case, power cord, DC transformer, wrench, multi-hole backpad and a variety of abrasives. Consumer with recalled units should no longer use them and contact Mirka Abrasives for a free replacement.
