Defective Chip Prompts Recall of Simplex Fire Alarm Control Panels

Defective Chip Prompts Recall of Simplex Fire Alarm Control Panels | In Compliance Magazine

Tyco Fire Protection has issued a recall for Simplex 4100ES Fire Alarm Control Panels due to a defective chip that could fail to activate. The defective chip can cause the battery to fail prematurely preventing the alarm to activate in the event of a fire.

The Simplex 4100ES Fire Control Panels are red or white in color and are 22 to 56 inches tall, 24 inches wide and 7 inches deep. The recalled panels were sold by SimplexGrinnell between March 2014 and June 2014. SimplexGrinnell and Tyco will be contacting consumers directly to schedule a time to inspect and replace all defective panels.
