Cuba Updates Amateur Radio Regulations

The ARRL reports that the Cuban Ministry of Communications has adopted a new regulatory scheme applicable to amateur radio operation in that country.

According to an ARRL press release issued in late March, the new regulatory scheme consists of 17 chapters and 182 articles that reflect significant changes from the country’s previous rules and regulations. Specific changes are said to affect authorized bands, license terms, on-the-air practices and the importation of equipment, antennas and accessories. Cuban radio amateurs are reportedly scrutinizing the just-released regulations to identify and evaluate the impact of the changes.
