The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act, known as CPSIA, has improved the lives of consumers and made a difference in the market since its inception five years ago.
The CPSIA was created as a result of millions of toys and children’s products being recalled for excessive lead, ingestion hazards and other serious risks. The CPSIA is also responsible for the creation of the SaferProducts.gov website which has resulted in over 15,500 reports of unsafe products. The database has helped consumers become more educated and make smarter and more informed decisions before purchasing toys and children’s products.
